Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. –AL I:40

Image of Liber AL vel Legis verse I:40: Who calls us Thelemites will do no wrong, if he look but close into the word. For there are therein Three Grades, the Hermit, and the Lover, and the man of Earth. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Liber AL vel Legis I:40

The A.'.A.'. man of Earth Grade

We present the following man of Earth essays under the headings of “Neophyte” and “Zelator.” Yet we don’t recognize those grades within our A.’.A.’. Why not?

“The fact is, according to Liber AL vel Legis [I:40], being a Thelemite encompasses only ‘three grades’ and not the ten upon which many fraternities are based.” –J. Edward Cornelius,An Open Epistle on Changes Within Our A.’.A.’.

The task of a man of Earth is to study and live by the law of Thelema. In essence, it is to get comfortable in your own skin.

So why “Neophyte” and “Zelator”? You see, to the extent that the man of Earth grade correlates to the Tree of Life, it does so to the spheres of Malkuth-10 and Yesod-9. Hence, we present these essays as tools for your overall man of Earth work, regardless of your present grade.

In particular, the essays on the Neophyte for those presently focusing into Malkuth-10. Likewise, these essays on the Zelator are for those presently focusing into Yesod-9.
