Note: This series of posts is a simplified outline of an upcoming book project on which Erica and I are currently working.
Anyone who convinces you that they hold the keys to your salvation more than likely has bad intentions. For example, despite what many authors would have you believe, most magickal concepts are extremely easy to define. Here are the basic definitions of several of the supposed esoteric concepts related to sex magick:
- The Magical Link: A thought form developed in relation to the other person(s) that serves to rouse the kundalini (i.e., stir the libido), such that an erection or lubrication results. The strength of the link depends on various factors, such as the intensity of arousal, the repetition of thoughts in relationship with the subject(s) involved, the proximity between the entities (astral, physical), and so on.
- Chastity: A vow of Holy Obedience such that coition is raised to the level of the sacred, often by means of the rites of orgia. Essentially, Chastity is the Eight Limbs of Yoga put into practice alongside the necessary elements of Banishment and Consecration taught through Crowley’s system of Magick. Chastity is a purity of intent that aims at the Will of Humanity. In other words, Chastity is the awareness that the Phallus is not mine, but that of my Father in Chokmah, and it entails perfect Devotion to the Holy Guardian Angel and the pursuit of the One True Will. Cf. Liber 333, Chapters KE, A, H, IA, IE, IF, IH, ΛB—their proper names being : The Star Ruby, The Sabbath of the Goat, Steeped Horsehair, The Glow Worm, The Gun Barrel, The Stag Beetle, Dewdrops and The Mountaineer.
- Virginity: Any Woman involved in a sex-magickal working must readily embrace that their ultimate goal is to act as an avatar, which requires that she—alongside any male participant—must be comfortable in one’s own body and with the expression of one’s sexuality. In particular, Virginity is a one-pointed devotion to her God, ideally during every waking hour, but at least in the context of all sexual acts.
The difficulty arises as to whether one is called to perform the Great Work or not; in other words, you must have Gold to make Gold.
