On Sunday August 19, 1979 and continuing for six Sundays in row, was the Renaissance Fair in California. The OTO opened a booth at the fair and Grady, Lady Sharine, Bill Heidrick and others attended to its needs. Grady enjoyed reading Thoth cards and talking to anyone’s whose ear he could bend about the OTO and Aleister Crowley. Grady always had fond memories when talking about his times spent at the fair but sadly, the June 28th, 1983 OTO Board Meeting passed Resolution No.335. It basically said that the OTO was no longer going to consider funding or sponsoring a booth at the Renaissance Faire. It had done so for years and a rich legacy had finally come to an end. It seems that in recent years there had been low attendance and the fair had been doing very poorly. The OTO felt it was time to gracefully bow out of this festival.
